“Christianity does not work!”

A few years ago, I saw this in an article on the internet.

“Dave Gass, a former pastor who led Grace Family Fellowship in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, has renounced his Christian faith as a system rife with abuse…

“‘As an adult my marriage was a sham and a constant source of pain for me. I did everything I was supposed to - marriage workshops, counseling, bible reading together, date nights every week, marriage books - but my marriage never became what I was promised it would be,” he said.’

2025.

Assuming this article is accurate, what is missing from his list of “everything he was supposed to do “?

I wonder if he would have tried obeying the Bible verses about marriage, how God would have blessed him. Apparently, he did not try that.

Also, who promised what about his marriage? Was he referring to the Bible promises or something else?

People say Christianity does not work. Then you often discover they never even tried Christianity. They tried something they call Christianity, but is not.
