[7] The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Though the beginning, fear of God must not be the only reason you obey Him.

Fear is the beginning, which implies there is more to come.

Other biblical reasons to obey God are

love for God.

faith (trust),

thankfulness,

obligation,

it is beneficial to you and those around you.
