Hebrews 13:8 KJV
[8] Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
This may sound like a monotonous routine.
Same old thing. Over and over.
Yet, this verse does not say Jesus does the same, but is the same. Jesus’ character never changes.
For example, Jesus is always kind, generous. Would you prefer He be cruel and stingy some of the time?
Would you prefer some babies’ eyes were on their arms instead of their faces? You probably rather eye placement never changes.
Though Jesus’ character stayed the same, when He was on earth, what He did was always new, different. His disciples were constantly surprised by His actions.
For example, feeding thousands with just a boy’s lunch. disappearing when multitudes sought Him, calling Peter Satan right after Peter called Jesus the Christ, Peter cutting off a guy’s ear and Jesus putting it back on.
Jesus constantly surprises and delights His people. Forever.
