Laziness is a great and costly sin.

Proverbs 15:19A KJV

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns:

Following Christ is costly. But not following Christ and living a life of sinning is also costly. The cost of following Christ is more like an investment. It pays off later on. It is like buying Google stock back in 2004. Living a life of selfish indulgence, on the other hand, eventually causes great harm. Both to the sinner and those around them.

Often people agree with a life of strict obedience to Christ, but they fail to live it, due to laziness. It takes work, effort, diligence, striving to obey the Lord as He requires.

Hebrews 6:11-12 KJV

[11] And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

[12] That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 12:3-4 KJV

[3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

[4] Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
