New things or old?

Acts 17:19-21 KJV
[19] And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is ?
[20] For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
[21] (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
Psalm 78:2 KJV
[2] I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
Psalm 78:3-4 KJV
[3] Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
[4] We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
People much prefer some new book, video, and so on, rather than the “old, irrelevant, boring” Bible. Supposed Bible studies often are studies of books about the Bible, rather than the Bible itself. There is a lot of good Bible teaching out there, but it must be checked against the Bible; these studies contain many errors. Also these studies must not replace studying the Bible itself.
