Romans 12:17-19 KJV
[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil.
Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
[18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you,
live peaceably with all men.
[19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
God gets revenge when people do evil to His children. It says here He will repay. Not He might or it depends.
When my children were young, they loved to get frozen yogurt at a new place called Yogen Fruz. All the children loved it; there were always long lines.
One day, while driving, I was rear-ended. The driver was the owner of this Yogen Fruz. She asked me to get an estimate for the repair of my car, and she would pay for it. I agreed to that. However, she would never pay me. Within weeks, her Yogen Fruz was closed, for no apparent reason. The long lines disappeared almost overnight. Was that God's vengeance? Only God knows, but it sure looked like it.
Though it is God’s will to get vengeance for His people, we must not rejoice at the harm God does, but be sad that the vengeance was necessary.
Proverbs 24:17 KJV
[17] Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
